Syfy Chess (Nocturnal Board Game)
This image is a concept art and rendering study for a futuristic chess-inspired board game featuring high-tech machine pieces, including positronic computers, nuclear fusion generators, transporters, and satellites. The game design is particularly striking when viewed in dark environments.
During my childhood, I was captivated by remarkable 3D artwork, films, and games. However, the barrier to creating 3D imagery was extremely high at that time.
Fortunately, while studying at university, I met a professor in the architecture design department who introduced me to 3D modeling. It was a revelatory moment when I first encountered SketchUp, an remarkably intuitive software that enabled me to build virtually any shape or form I envisioned. This tool quickly became an integral part of both my design process and my daily life.
Shortly after becoming immersed in 3D modeling, I discovered how to create photorealistic renderings using V-Ray for SketchUp. My renderings became so convincing that viewers often could not distinguish them from actual photographs. This accomplishment gave me tremendous satisfaction and confidence, transforming 3D modeling and rendering from technical computer skills into enjoyable creative activities in my daily life.
Many of my internationally recognized design works—including “Dot” (Red Dot Design Award Germany 2010), “Bud” (iF Design Award Germany 2011), and “Mad Evolution” (3rd Place in Interactive-Physical, ACM SIGGRAPH SpaceTime USA 2009)—were created using 3D tools. These accomplishments demonstrate not only my ability to conceptualize three-dimensional spaces but also my skill in transforming abstract ideas into exceptional design works.
