Joshua Chao uses the title “JC&D” as the collective name for all of his design works and his design studio. The ampersand “&” represents the concept of “conjunction” between multiple design disciplines, reflecting his multi-disciplinary approach. In this website’s URL, the ampersand “&” is replaced with the letter “n”—written as “JCnD”—to create a shorter, more concise web address, following the convention of “rock & roll” being written as “rock ‘n’ roll”.

”From the balletic movement of sub-atomic particles to the waltzing collision of galaxies, the ingenuity of design is everywhere in our universe and accomplishes everything. It’s my honor to practice design with such an enchanting knowledge full of wisdom and compassion.” — Joshua Chao
