Library of Study Hard (Portfolio Set)

 

As a communications design student, I had the responsibility to present a final report on the results of my four years at university. Since all my design projects began with serious topics and extensive cultural research, I found myself spending considerable time in the library. This dedication to research is essential to becoming an excellent designer.

 

After spending so much time in the library, I decided to create my own. I wrote books covering diverse fields and tagged them for classification. Fortunately, I had abundant material to draw from—many remarkable design projects and their stories to share.

 

Drawing on the breadth of my internationally recognized design works—such as “Dot” (Red Dot Design Award Germany 2010), “Bud” (iF Design Award Germany 2011), and “Mad Evolution” (3rd Place in Interactive-Physical, ACM SIGGRAPH SpaceTime USA 2009)—I organized my work across three distinct perspectives: philosophy (black cover), aesthetics (white cover), and science (blue cover).

 

I also needed to create a custom bookshelf to display these books. Fortunately, I am not only a skilled writer but also a craftsman passionate about creating beautiful things, regardless of complexity (see ”Chess on the Dot” and ”Globe Chess”). This portfolio set ultimately received the honor of “Best Portfolio of the Year” for the semester.
