Summer Taipei (Tilt-shift & Time-lapse Photography)
In the summer right after I was graduated from the university, I have a chance to lead a film-making activity in the beautiful Taipei city. Instead of taking the easy and ordinary cliché of postcard-like photos, I decided to choose the difficult thing to do: The tilt-shift lens photography and the time-lapse short film.
The most challenging and interesting thing to make this short film is to find a suitable high place to set the camera in the right angle. The team had to first decide a scene to film, and then located the high place near the scene—usually the rooftop of a building—to set the camera.
We use time-lapse effect to show the best part of the footage—which is actually the whole part of it—in a short time, to catch audiences’ attention. The color of the short film is enhanced to compensate the bad light of the cloudy days. And we add this perky background music for the short film to perfectly express the atmosphere of the ordinary days of the beautiful Taipei city.
